Re: Who is the Baron??
This is funny. I was just talking to tenpins about this member a few weeks ago. I'm guessing it's some computer geek that reads alot of climbing/mountaineering books, and never actually gets out. The whole pseudonym thing is pretty lame... Also, I think this member is also responsible for starting the whole england sucks thread last year. Maybe I'm wrong. The Barons posts are usually good reading though.

I have survived 3 avalanches...all my fault. yes i'm a dumb-ass!

i always just figured he was this guy reincarnate:

who did have a bit of a way with words even back in the day and a thing for mountain tops, too. he wrote:

If it were him, he would have posted his Walpurgisnacht ascent of the Brocken in the TR's section...

Re: Who is the Baron??
Well, at the very least, I hope The Baron of the Week takes turns sitting in front of the computer. It might get awfully cramped (in all the wrong ways) if ya'll try to share a chair!BaronVonBergschrund wrote:Some food for thought: What makes everyone so sure that I am ONE person?

Also, just to throw another idea out for the sake of this debate, is there any chance that The Baron could be Bill? I once moderated on a site where the forum owner loved to create new personalities, just for poops-n-grins...
