The only thing comparable to Highlands Ranch is Hell.

And that's not even really a good comparison. I'd take Hell every day and twice on Sunday in preference to HR.

Educate me. What is wrong with Highlands Ranch? I've never been.

No traffic on Friday night and Sunday morning on I-70. Seemed like the off-season up where I was. I wasn't skiing though. Only gapers and diehards up there right now.

I don't know about the Highlands Ranch sentiment, although I get it. If I wasn't a young millenial, but a dude with a wife and kids, I'd take Highlands Ranch over Denver if I had to play favorites. I'd still kick the whole metro area to the curb if I could.

Whatever highway gets me through Highlands Ranch in the least amount of time gets my vote as the right way to drive. No pun intended, as it relates to "right".

A friend of mine had a run in with a soccer mom up there and swears he'll never go back. He's a smart guy, so I'm going with it.

Well, this dude with a wife and kids, loves living in Denver. 20 minute bike ride to work or 30 minute with the train, 45 minutes to Bakerville or Jones Pass, yeah, Denver is terrible. \:D/

For me, hour drive to work on average, most commutes home go well over, maybe push an 1 hour 45 to 2 hours with bus and train, could be a 3-4 hour bike ride to work because of what would constitute a legal and safe route. I'm more of an exception with these times, I know, circumstances have put my work and home in the worst possible relative locations for living in Denver. But for a 18 mile commute these drive times are absurd, completely absurd. I hate Denver more than anything these days because of it.

Not a fan of Highlands Ranch, but I'll always take a suburb over the city when I have a family. Generally with the exception of Aurora...

I feel your pain. I work from home now and I'm getting "asked" (forced) to work in DTC every day starting Jan 2 and the idea is practically giving me panic attacks. The idea of driving I-25 every day sounds horrible and 470 isn't much better. The best case scenario is 45 minutes each way and I'm sure many days will be much worse. Light rail would make it over an hour each way too so that's not much better.

Yeah, it's not fun at all. I really feel for you knowing what's coming your way with that drive. My drive time without traffic should be 25 minutes to Inverness. Though, 470 should be relatively good for you until you reach the dreaded Highlands Ranch area.

I feel like I've been hearing more about companies eliminating their lax work from home policies, yeah? It's either come back to the office or find a new job; it's a secretive way to lay people off too cause some people work from home in other states.

There are several things that suck about the place I live, but luckily traffic isn't one of them. Here is one of the local highways during rush hour:

Joking aside, I really do feel for you guys. I had to drive through Denver on Saturday. It was terrible.
I'm old, slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.
