Notice how the two climbers look comfortable and warm? They are also smiling, indicating that they are having a good time out climbing. Both of these things are impossible with Eddie Bauer gear, since you feel guilt the moment you walk out of the store for putting your climbing brethren who work at real gear companies out on the street. Eddie Bauer gear also will only insulate in the following circumstances: going to the mall, taking the dog for a walk, attending a fraternity party, car camping with a 2-room 8-man tent and Coleman lanterns. The climbers in question are out in the backcountry in the wintertime and are carrying real ice climbing tools, thus the parkas in question can only be the Patagonia DAS parkas (military version).

Now just think what Steve F. House could climb if he threw off the yoke of Patagonia! Take that BaronVonFail!

Boy, Chad looks miserable. Perhaps he's worried that the camera crew will drop ice chunks on his helmetless head.

I believe there is a helmet tucked under his BC-200 helmet compatible hood. Also that look is the look of extreme focus.

What cult would that be? Grown men who walk around the mountains in clown masks?

In the darkness of night, when it's really cold, the Baron is the first to thrown on his Eddie Bauer First Ascent Peak XV down parka. Can't say that I blame him, it's a great jacket for the price.

Oh, excuse me, I had no idea that he was climbing such a difficult and committing route!
Although still a very noteworthy route, the climb was not as steep as it appeared from the previous night’s photo and from the road. We were expecting multiple pitches of solid grade WI 4-5 route and instead found several pitches of WI 3+ to WI 4.
How could he EVER have climbed WI3+ to WI4 in ANY equipment other than Eddie Bauer! Quick, someone get this guy a Piolet d'Or!

Call me when someone from the First Ascent team actually climbs something noteworthy. While they were touring through shopping malls in the United States, Patagonia ambassadors climbed 15 actual first ascents. You must work for Eddie Bauer (mtn114 - could you have picked a LESS imaginative username?)

Yeah no kidding. Not to mention the fact that I spent way too much time messing with it so I had to just change the brightness and call it good enough.

I stand corrected... my soft gear recognition skills aren't so honed these days... I'll try and do better next time.

I don't work for them, I'm just a tall guy that's tired of trying to fit into Montbell and Patagonia.

She's looking good in First Ascent!
