Bears on Lake Como Rd Campsites?
Pretty sure I can get my Tacoma up to 10k’ on the Lake Como Rd (a 1/4 mile below Jaws I) and camp. I know there are bears at Lake Como. Any reports of nuisance bears down near Jaws I? Wondering if I need to take precautions.

I always take precautions. I haven't heard of any bears down on the road though

Dont usually hear problems down that low, but its definitely possible. The worst I've ran into was one giant angry goat.

I have camped around 10,000'-10,300' a couple times and we only ever saw deer come through the camp in the afternoon. But then again, I wasn't at camp all day, I was on Little Bear.

This... always take bear precautions whether or not there have been problems/bear sightings recently. It will help prevent new bear problems from developing.Reg0928 wrote:I always take precautions.

he's lucky. if he had left that truck like that at the whitney portal, the bears would have stripped it down to the wheel axles.
