No snow on Rico-Silverton trail in. Creek Crossings were iced over. Spotty snow in all the wrong areas.
I attempted this peak via both routes on Friday from South Mineral and failed to summit both times, once due to lack of gear and the other due to false beta. I made it to about 500' below the summit before turning back. Full report can be found here for those interested in this peak, as my mistakes are avoidable: https://wildwandererlmc.wordpress.com/2019/10/28/rolling-mountain-13693-attempts/

Kudos for reporting your attempts in order to help share info. It€„˘s not natural for us to share where we went wrong; it€„˘s much more enjoyable to share only the trips where we reach our goals.

Having done Rolling and seen it from nearly all angles, I think the most efficient and scenic route is up the old Bandora mine road and then up and over V9, with return via the same. Let me rephrase: I think this way is the most aesthetic. The shortest and quickest would be up Rico and then up the Rolling€„˘s SE basin; it just involves thing over some broken ground .
