Effectively summer conditions--virtually zero snow above treeline, some inconsequential patches near treeline that can be barebooted easily. Despite what relatively recent information told us, the Old Fall River Road is in fact OPEN to vehicular traffic for the summer! Very windy day, and we were able to see the newest plume of smoke from the High Park fire develop beyond the northern Mummy Range peaks.

Davey--added the best pics I had, though I don't know how much help they'll be. With the warm temps up there (at least 60 degrees) what snow there was seemed to be melting quickly. My guess is that the couloirs are probably not safe to climb at this point.

RC--thanks, I'm planning to hit up several more 14ers this summer, but as I'm soon going to have far less free time, I don't expect to finish them till sometime next year. Not planning to do all the 13ers, or even the Centennials. It looks like you've been busy yourself--how've you been?

Perhaps, did you...

snag a picture of either branch of the Y-couloir?.. specifically the cornices.

I would love to see it if you did.

That's helpful

The Y's usually a late season climb, just probably not this season considering it was climbed in May
