Started from Eureka. Several slides have crossed CO-110 but its in safe condition at the moment. The North Fork drainage is very narrow with steep slopes on either side - not a good place to be except in the best of conditions. Gaining the Engineer/Seigal saddle was safe and comfortable and Seigal's north ridge was easy but annoying... snowshoes on/off/on/off. I descended southwest facing slopes from the minor northern sub-summit which were generally just under 30 degrees with rocks poking out here and there. |
