Started around 6 am. Snow coverage presently extends to tree line at 11,800. Good freeze allowed for an easy ascent. After that minimal snow coverage existed all the way along the ridge to the summit minus a few strips that can be easily bypassed. By the time I got back to the snowline, the crust was melted enough that one could posthole easily to the hips. Snowshoes are a must once the crust is gone. |
