East Slopes route is mostly snow-free. All unavoidable snow is on the road, firm in the morning and a sloppy mess on the way out. Upper section of the route is 90% dry and is easy enough to go around any remaining snow patches. Wind higher than forecasted today, otherwise a perfect day for a summit. Started 5:45am, back to car 12:30pm. Didn't use spikes or snowshoes.

Saw moose & elk from the car on the way in, ptarmigan on the hike out. And a very tiny alpine wildflower. We parked at the lower parking near the Leavick site, but could have made it to the upper 4wd parking near the Silver Horseshoe Dr intersection.

7.10 miles, 2,898'
