Loveland pass had about 5 total cars when I started at 4:30AM. Lots of fresh snow but snowshoes were unnecessary. Microspikes very helpful. Minimal wind. Nobody had ascended yet since snowstorm. Overall pretty easy going. Was a little sketchy for a dog as the fresh snow/ice on the rocks made for high injury risk. Posthole to knee if leaving trail or windblown areas. |
