Completed 06/24/20 (#2/100).Arrived at TH parking lot around 05:40 and found a spot easy enough. Ascent took me 3h55m, descent 2h21m so, 6h16m RT. As expected, lots of trail traffic. Found Quandry to be considerably harder than Bierstadt, which I completed last week. That last 1K of gain is especially tough. I was blowing hard. My lockdown muffin is not helping in my quest to become Lord of all 14er'shire. Very rocky and gravelly trail pretty much from 12.4K to summit at 14.2K. Slipped twice on descent, though nothing serious. Good footwear and poles recommended. I saw plenty of light, flimsy looking sneakers being worn and can only imagine there's plenty of sore feet tonight. Some lingering snow near summit. Proceed with caution as I saw a few slip over. |
