Quick update on the parking and marmot situation on the pass. I heard a rumor of only 1 parking spot and lots of marmot issues.
1. Plenty of parking. Photo 1
There is a dirt lot at the top of the pass, with room for at least 10 cars (and spots elsewhere along the roads, if needed, doubtful). No need to park on the tundra.
2. The marmot rumor was true.
Probably best not to park in the "cut out" single parking spot (across from the dirt lot). That spot is very close to some marmot dens. We saw a lot of marmot activity over there. Photo 2
One car was parked in the "cut out" spot and reportedly they used moth balls (and possibly other deterrents) and had marmot issues during the night. I used "Critter Ritter" and my partner used "CR" and moth balls on his vehicle. Neither of us had any issues, during the night or any evidence of animals during the day.
Please, do check under your hoods and under your car before driving off.
