Backpacked for a night in the valley, went up the peak Sunday with a friend. Little snow showers on summit and shared summit with someone who finished.

We were with you on the summit...DRHBDC finisher! Valley is in full wildlflower bloom, summer conditions all the way to Daly pass. Drop down and there are 4 -5 snowfields...ice axe and traction allowed for quick travel. Did not put on traction until last snow field up to boulder field below K2. K2 to Summit is bone dry. Glissade down snow fields were fun. On hike out, in the final mile and half, saw two separate bears. A juvenile...and a medium size bear in the meadow. Both seem like happy bears.
