be very careful of afternoon storms. I started at 8:30am without a cloud in the sky. Summit around 11am and clouds were building fast. Before I got 500ft down from the summit there was a lighting strike on Mt. Elbert across the valley. Luckily nothing built up over Massive, but I'm sure Mt. Elbert had some people up there based on how many cars were in the area. Off the summit by noon, no exception. |
