|Peak:||San Luis Peak (14er)|

I hiked up San Luis Peak on Sunday (8/02) and the weather was great. To my surprise, someone had cut through all the downed trees and willows on the Northeast ridge trail. Kudos to the person or persons who did this. Now one can make quick progress through the lower trail. Also, it is easy to follow through the willows. As others have mentioned, make noise as you hike through the forest. I came across very fresh bear scat and a few minutes later saw the remains of a backbone that had been eaten clean. Be safe and enjoy the hike.
