The first two miles of the trail are clear of snow and slush. After that the trail is snowpacked. Snowspikes are highly advisable along with poles. If you stay on the trail you do not need any gaitors, however there are plenty of areas along the trail where you can post hole.

Thanks for the update on the trail conditions! Do you have any photos of the trail/route for reference? I plan on climbing it tomorrow and would greatly appreciate it

You can see the trail condition coming up Grays in this photo taken on 9/13/20, and also the trail condition along the saddle between Grays and Torrey's. In the morning the snow was a bit slick, but by afternoon it was slushy.
