Really just wanted to give an update on the Cottonwood Creek Trail. There was a significant amount more of deadfall that has fallen on the trail, etc. since hiking Crestone Peak in late June. My hiking partner and I joked that it felt like a completely different trail.

Careful route finding and being familiar with the area helped.

Route free of snow up the red gully and the ledges though?

Thanks for the update. I have plans to day hike this soon up to just Crestone peak and did the approach back in sepetember for the needle so I am familiar with the route.

Think it would make navigation in the dark hard? I plan to start at 4-430 AM

The route was snow free in the red gully. Some water running down which could be slick in the early am. We started at 3am from Cottonwood Creek TH.

I got off in a couple places in the morning even with having a gps track from when I was there in July. Have fun!

Was it also snow free on the ledges up to the summit? Sorry to be pedantic.

We didn€„˘t notice any snow that would€„˘ve been an issue on the ledges.
