Details
We parked about .6 miles from the trailhead and hiked up the road, then perhaps a quarter mile past the trailhead/gate. From there we turned west and hiked straight up Middle's steep and willowy east slopes. The willows were super thick and a pain to hike through, and there were multiple times when we couldn't find a good tunnel and had to bash through. Above the willows the route just turns into a grass/dirt/scree slog to the blocky summit.
