The road is easy enough to hike, even from the bottom. The Uncompahgre trail is then easy to follow to the Big Blue trail, most of which is dry to the pass. From there snow began anew, though it was more manageable than Point 13,158. The ridge gets steep but nothing too crazy, though there is a lot of loose rock. Near the summit the rock improves but you'll still have to deal with lots of snow. The true summit is a short scramble along the summit ridge. There's a second, taller cairn farther to the east along the ridge which we went out to but both agreed that the true summit came first. We returned the way we came. There's enough snow that you will probably want boots. Ice axe not needed, traction useful for the descent back to the Big Blue trail.

#1) Point 13,106 from the south, on our attempt of 13,158.#2) Dry Big Blue trail.#3) Looking up from the pass.#4) Closer look at the summit. It looks like a sharp point from here but it’s actually a long, narrow ridge.#5) Short scramble to the summit ridge.#6) Neat rocks on the summit ridge.
