Trench is in, snowshoes needed for sure to the base of rock rib. When you reach treeline, our tracks turn left to the base of the rib where we stashed our snowshoes. From there, no traction used to the summit. Traction would not have helped.
The rock rib was a mix of loose powder, bouldering and scree. Made the ascent a bit more slow going but it is also the safest way up right now. The switchbacks on the road had some slopes above them holding a lot of weak snowpack, would not recommend trying to walk the road.
There was also evidence below treeline of some minor slides that covered our tracks from the morning on our way down. Be very careful and avy aware on this route if you opt to attempt it in the near future.
