A nice bootpack most of the way, spikes were all I needed. A little post-holing, but not enough to justify snowshoes. Gaiters were helpful. Cold and a little windy above 12,000', but relatively quiet on the summit. Stopped by Bierstadt on the way to ski Copper Mountain. Bad year for skiing, but good for climbing, only my second snowflake.

Were you able to get a look up the west ridge route on mt evans? How much snow did there seem to be in the gully that you go up for that route?

Looks OK from a distance

I was eyeballing the route a little because I'm interested in Gray Wolf. Hard to tell for sure from a distance, but generally not much snow, so I think the route would OK until the next dump of snow.
