Details

Trail well packed through tree line. Good boot pack above tree line, but it wanders off the established trail. Might create postholing issues in warmer conditions. Mostly wind-swept or hard pack above tree line. Cables mostly filled in and well consolidated. Went straight up after the Cable's on mostly well consolidated snow.

Hey - did you get any good lock down Keplinger's? Was the Homestretch filled in? And how did the out look further down in Wild Basin? Thanks for the help.

Didn't really look down to Keplinger's. Homestretch seemed pretty filled in, but most of my gazing was into Glacier Gorge. Sorry I couldn't give you better information.

Were the first two pitches mostly snow covered? Any exposed rock? Were you solo?

Mostly snow covered. Some exposed rock coming off the first dihedral and exiting the upper section. Was solo. Used single tool.

Thanks for kicking excellent steps, which I made good use of on Sunday. Conditions are pretty good, but more snow would be better.

Glad to help. It did feel like mid-June condtitions.

Yeah, mid June sounds about right, though it was more packed snow than ice on the cables section. Not much to swing an ax into.
