Hiked Castle and Conundrum and enjoyed plenty of glissading. We used microspikes once in the basin but they probably weren't necessary. Members of another group behind us didn't use traction and they were fine. No problem following the road up into the basin - there are still a couple snow covered areas and plenty of water running in several spots. Snow was firm enough to avoid any post holing.

Looks like a great day. These two are on my short list. Can you tell me how long your round-trip distance was and how long it took you for ascent and decent?

According to my Garmin it was 7.25 mile roundtrip from just above the second stream crossing. We were 3:15 to summit of Castle. 15 minutes on top. Traverse to Conundrum took 45 minutes and then an additional 15 minutes back to saddle. 1:45 back to our vehicle. Total 6:15.
