Getting to this peak was the hardest part. After going over Cottonwood Pass we drove 10 miles on 742 (2WD dirt road) through Taylor Park. Then turned left on 759 for 7 miles. This is a rough 4WD road and took 1.5 hours to drive. High clearance needed for last 5 miles (lots of dispersed camping off 759 on first couple miles). It's best to park for climb right after 2nd switchback before Star mine private property sign. Not much room to pull off though so you might need to park lower (there's a cabin to turn around just ahead). You will not have cell service once you leave Buena Vista. From there, work your way to the North Ridge of Lambertson avoiding the private property. Lambertson is an easy walk up, mostly on grass. The traverse to Italian Mountain was class 2+ with occasional class 3 scrambling over very loose dinner plates. The ridge proper didn't seem possible so we followed some cairns we saw below. We descended down Italians mostly mellow east ridge to 759, avoiding the Star mine private property on our left, and walked road back to truck.
