Route: Ruby Creek

Info: Went passed 4th gully and took ridge straight to Robeson. Nice route! The weather was awful. Rain, sleet, snow, you name it. Couldn't even see Bard so headed to Englemann which was easy over mostly grassy terrain. Weather was still bad so orphaned Bard and went down Englemanns NW ridge straight to truck which was parked at mine. Made for a nice loop. Steep for most of descent and trees were messy at times. I wouldn't recommend our descent route unless you like off trail bushwacks.

Info: This should be the standard route for these 3 peaks instead of the mine route. One of the best trails I've found myself on. Followed the Bard Creek Trail until reaching treeline, then picked our route up the slope to the summit. A bit of snow from the previous few days that will likely melt by tomorrow. Route off to Robeson was a grassy with a thin covering of snow that will be gone. Same with route from Robeson to Engelmann. We stayed just north of Englemann SE Ridge and had a pretty painfree bushwack to meet back up with the Bard Creek Trail. Note that the road up to Bard Creek Trail is pretty rough. Only legit 4x4s will make it to the trailhead. Subies and the like will make it about a mile short near some cabins, unless you really don't care about your car. 2wd will be 2 miles shy at a pull off near Empire Pass.

Info: the trail at Ruby Creek was well packed down till the left turn to get to the 3rd gully. 4 of us broke trail all the way up to the 3rd gully, ridge was wind blown and no issue. took so long in the snow we were not able to make it to Robeson Peak or Bard Peak. Had snow shoes in the car wish we had them, but most of the trail breaking was done on an angle and i hate that with SS on. Great trench now so someone please go use it! Winds were also an issue with us, Weather called for 50mph guest and i do not think they were wrong, we were measuring -10 with wind chill. Made it to the top of the ridge and turned around, took us 5hrs to the ridge and 2hrs back down to the car.

Info: You can ride right off the summit down to the Robeson/Engelmann saddle, unclip and hike one minute before dropping into continuous snow around ~12,700'. From there it's about 2,400' of mellow riding back to the trailhead. We timed it a little too early and the snow hadn't softened up enough at 10:00. The two dudes booting up as we were riding down probably timed it perfectly!
