There's a short and crappy scramble off "S 8" on junky rock, but in total it's less than 20 feet. Exposure is somewhat high to the north. From there it's an easy walk over to the saddle with "S 7". Instead of ascending "S 7" we hit Ruffner Mountain first, which entailed a talus hop to the ridge and then a Class 2+/Easy Class 3 scramble along the ridge to Ruffner. The rock here is a mix of typical Sneffles range garbage and some semi-solid rock. Exposure west isn't too bad but is severe to the east. We returned and did "S 7" afterwards.
