Dan, I don't have a death wish and have driven up to the lake many times on an ATV.

Impressed

Bill,
I stand corrected, and impressed. I made it past Jaws 1 and 2. I think it was Jaws 2.5 that looked sketchy to me. I‘ve got a Suzuki Quadrunner 500 cc and was afraid of flipping over backward on the steep rock. Maybe it was paranoia, but I wanted to weigh on the side of caution.

Caution!

Yeah, it certainly requires a lot of rough-trail ATV experience to make it without banging up the machine or putting yourself in a difficult or dangerous position. You still got pretty high and didn't have to suffer in the heat on the lower road.

Did you notice if there was a bear bag cable system installed somewhere near Lake Como? Greg

Bear Question

I did not. We only skirted the lake campsites so I could not say if there is one. Two years ago when I did camp there, people just brought rope and hoisted their stuff up. A better option would probably be a bear vault.
