Road is clear and basically snow free until the big switchback at 10,200 ft. Its the last switchback before the road gets super steep and technical. Parking is available at the switchback. After that, the road is snow covered. From there, the road is covered in about 3 inches of snow and climber feet have made a nice path. Flotation or traction is not needed until above Lake Como.
