I drove about 3.3 miles and 8800 feet up the road from the start. This area is called Chokecherry Canyon and a fairly traditional, 'cautious' 4WD parking place! I didn't see any vehicles parked higher up on the road during this trip. The road is (still) in summerlike conditions to within about half a mile of Lake Como and then has anywhere from a dusting to about 4 to 6 inches of snow in places.
