The parking area is the "Truck Brake Check" area on the westbound side of the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnel. There is a road leading up Straight Creek with numerous No Parking signs, please obey the signs and park at the brake check area.

Driving Directions

** From Denver and other Front Range cities: drive through the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnel on I-70 West and pull off the interstate to the right at the "Truck Brake Check" area immediately at the western terminus of the tunnel. This is the parking area for the trailhead. If you miss the turn off you will have to drive all the way to Dillon and back to reach the trailhead. To return to Denver on I-70 Eastbound drive over the top of the tunnel on a two-way road to a similar parking area on the other side of the interstate and merge onto I-70 Eastbound from there. ** From west of the Eisenhower/Johnson tunnel: drive east and immediately before entering the tunnel pull off to the right where the sign says "Vehicles Transporting Hazardous Materials". Drive over the top of the tunnel on a two-way road to reach a "Truck Brake Check" area on westbound I-70. This is the parking area for the trailhead.
