Sunrises, sunsets and star trails - Snowmass west ridge and Hagerman Peak

After a week of photo editing and writing, I am finally proud to say that this trip report is done.

A few takeaways that might be useful for readers of this site:
1. Lead King Basin road is bad, but probably good enough for most stock SUVs with care.
2. Snowmass Mountain's west slopes are dangerous if you go off-route.
3. Hagerman's standard route is quite obscure - be warned!
4. I came close to dying - feel free to make fun of me

Nice report, amazing pictures! I am planning on climbing Snowmass's S Ridge in a couple weeks. Would you recommend coming down the West slope or not?

You put a great deal of work into your photos and TR's Matt and the finished result is great! Thanks for the call-out in your TR too by the way. Finally getting the recognition I so badly deserve I very much enjoyed Hagerman's SW Ridge but didn't much like the descent (your route up and down).

Nice writing, good trip report, and

photo composition is good, but for my tastes many of your pix would be significantly better without HDR. No need to veer into Thomas Kinkade country when your eye and scenery are already so keen.

I like the report but I agree with Oman that I don't care for the HDR photos. You obviously put a lot of work into your photography I just prefer a more traditional look.

Ryan- grats again!
Agree on HDR vs. Non- that's why I show both sometimes.
Thanks for the comments!

DanielL- yes.. coming down that route was great!
