Yeah I know, some people don't like clicking links to an external site to get to the trip report blah, blah, blah... but believe me, it's worth it. I even have video footage of me punting a marmot into a lake... or do I? You'll have to click the link to find out.

I guess that marmot had it coming. Marmot punting is the newest of Colorado's Extreme Mountain Sports. At least they make an adorable ”yip” when you make contact.

Beautiful pics

Enjoyed the write up. How many hours did it take? How much of it did you jog? I'm looking forward to giving it a go on Saturday.

It took about 7 hours going at a fairly unhurried pace with a lot of quick stops for photos and water refills and extended breaks at King Falls, the small lake below Trail Rider, and Snowmass Lake. I ran all of the downhills and probably 40% of the uphills. All of the trail is pretty runable with only a few steep grunts, but I hiked for some longer periods going up each of the passes just to keep myself from being totally wrecked. I can imagine that in more ”normal” summer weather you may either want to start earlier or go faster to beat the thunderstorms, but I didn't have that to contend with.

Very nice Chris P!

When I was up in that area I was thinking about our trips to Pyramid and Capitol. Those were some fun climbs.
