A group of 5 of us started Mt. Democrat at 5am on 08.02.2013. It was a beautiful ascent to the saddle, but quite breezy. As we approached the saddle the wind was ferocious! Best guess was sustained at about 40 mph and gusting to 60 mph. We could hardly stand up. We cautiously moved up toward Mt. Democrat with the gusting winds. 4 out of the 5 of us made it between 6:50am and 7:15am. The wind was just as strong at the peak which prompted our descent.

We planned on completing Mt.'s Cameron, Lincoln and Bross in the same trip, but the wind prevented it.

The next day, 08.03.2013, we completed Cameron and Lincoln on a much warmer and calmer day.

These mountains were fantastic and some of the easier/shorter 14er's to complete. With cooperative weather, even flat-landers like us could likely do all four in about 7-8 hours. Also great mountains for beginners or younger hikers!
