 Good to be back home

After a day of work I headed back up to the hills for some more action. I met up with Jerome and Kevin and we headed up to the Peru Creek Trailhead on Zuma Road. We made good time up the road on a very firm freeze. From the terminus of Chihuahua Gulch we headed for the base of Coopers South Ridge. The skinning here was really steep. After a point I switched over to booting and actually had my ice axe out through the aspens. That was the first time I've ever needed an axe in the trees. Once past the snow we booted and bouldered our way up to the summit of Cooper. This ridge is super fun and offers mild hiking to some pretty hard exposed rock moves.... Looks like I need to go back to ski the SW face/gully on Ruby one day. Looks good!
