Since a few folks (OK, mostly Bill, always blame Bill) were asking about Ouray and other parts of the S Sawatch, I thought I'd do a quick TR. the Grey's Creek trailhead is easily accessable, and we were able to ski most of the way from the summit to the car by working the North side of the valley on the descent. I'm sure some of that snow melted in the past 10 days or so, but there is more snow in the forecast. Other peaks in the area, including Aetna, Shavano, and Tabeguache look to be snowier than normal and perfect for ski descents. For more, the full report is HERE

This is a good ski, one of the better ones in the Sawatch IMO, so go get it. Oh, and the Bristlecones alone are worth the trip.

Those twisted trees are the most beautiful, spent a lot of time gazing at them. I bet it was a nice run down!

Ouray is one of my favorite mountains. Looks pretty nice with snow.
