 Angel of Shavano +sled descent

Great day on Mt. Shavano via the Angel!
Here is a movie/video report of the trip

Perfect day! Me and my dad drove up on Saturday from boulder and made great time to the trailhead. We got there just after dark and camped in on of the spots near the TH. We woke up at 3:30 and were off by 4. Trail was snow free until about 10,500 feet. The snow was icy and hard. We went without traction until a bit after treeline then geared up. The conditions were great all the too the summit. It was alot longer than I remembered though from the top of the angel to the summit. We hung out for a bit on top to wait for the snow to soften then started our descent. My dad was on skis and he skied right off the summit. The snow was still pretty solid. I was planning to sled down, but it was pretty icy and sketchy so I just glissaded until about the angels head. By then the snow was soft corn and it was great! I took out the sled and had a really fun descent. It worked out great because the long low angle runout with soft snow at the bottom of the angel made it much safer and really easy to slow down. My dad had a great time on the skis too. We were able to glide all the way to treeline, and then the postholing started. It was absolutely terrible, every step. Even my dad on skis was having a hard time. Soon, we got back to were the snow ended and bombed it back to the car. It was a really fun day!
