 Labor Day Ouray Soiree

Labor Day Ouray Soiree
Standard Route: West Ridge

I finally made the strut up my first centennial 13er, which I'd been eying for years without knowing. I suppose that is a benefit of going to school in Gunnison. The hike was surreal, especially as I was on the summit for sunset. The lack of crowds was sublime. I'm excited to start knocking out more 13ers. Here is a link to the full report: Labor Day Ouray Soiree

Here is a preview of some of the photography~

Thanks for taking a look!

Hooray for Ouray!

Enjoyed your report and excellent photos. Ouray is such a cool peak, its own vantage point, and it apparently has quite a rich history from "turn-of-the-century" peak baggers. Sounds like you're already hooked on non-14ers. You know what they say. Centennial 13ers: not even once.

Great TR

That is a great report. I can't imagine that feeling of getting lost in the dark. Ouray is a special mountain. I really enjoyed that hike, didn't see another soul on the entire hike outside of the group I was in.
