 South approach

Six hikers wanted a safe challenge. We began our climb around 9 AM from our camp site on the east end of Fairview Lake. There was no trail to follow so we picked our way through vegetation. Occasionally we had difficulty determining the best route so two of us would venture out to investigate different possibilities then reconvene to discuss what we found. We were hikers with no real climbing experience so we were careful to choose safe routes within the ability of all of us. We took our time, ate, enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Lime Creek Valley and reached the summit around 2 PM. There were some occasions of loose rock, some minor exposure and some class II scrambling.
