Started from the TH about 6am... RT 9 hours 30 minutes but we spent a decent amount of time taking breaks to enjoy the scenery on the summits. Hike itself was for the most part unremarkable as far as "issues" go. The trail is mostly free of snow minus a few snowy areas just after the old cabin ruins and then again across the Bel/Ox traverse. Obviously the snow was solid in the morning, it was a little softer in the afternoon but never post-holed and we didn't use any traction other then poles for stability. The trail is lost under some snow at the 90 degree turn where it heads towards the summit after 13,000ft so just be on the lookout.
The trail in the avalanche area has been cleared exceptionally well (a big shout out to those who cleared it) and is easy to follow/navigate up through the area. The log bridge across the “brook” here is not the best but it’s functional for now, just take your time getting across as the logs are slick from being wet. Not sure how long it will be there with how intense the water flow is so use caution.
Even though it was a beautiful day it was really windy up at the summit of Mount Belford, but by the time we got to Mount Oxford was not windy at all, just be prepared for the wind it was kind of brutal.

Was definitely humbled by the loss/gain of elevation between the two summits but if you take your time it’s fairly easy going with some loose rock/dirt here and there.

Remember to bring sunscreen, plenty of water and snacks as it makes for quite the adventure!! Happy hiking!!

Thanks for posting this. I€„¢m headed there in the morning. I€„¢ll leave Longmont around 3 AM. Looking forwarded to doing both before the rain falls.
I am planning to hike Missouri and Huron the week of July 22-26. I am curious about the Avalanche debris on the road to Winfield? Is it clear enough for a decent clearance 4WD to make it to Clear Creek/S. Winfield Trailhead? Thanks!
We were hoping to do a trip up Pine Creek Trail next week and potentially take Elkhead Pass from the south. Did the trail up to the pass seem doable from the south? It's not crucial, but it could be a scenic side trip up to Belford.
Thanks
