Cooper Pk (North ridge) and Marten Pk (3 routes scouted)

Detailed description on Cooper Peak's ridge ascent from the North as well as three summit block variations on Marten Peak, again, approached from the North. Super fun little peaks.

I was up there on the 5th. Nice details on the Marten summit block. Lots of options up there. On the way up I hiked from the southeast corner fairly directly, felt mostly like exposed class 3+. Probably the crux was 4. There was a cairn or 2 on the way on that route. It sounds a bit like what you're calling the North Ridge route, I have no clue what cardinal direction I was going, so north ridge I think. Was there this bomber huge hold right at the top of the trickiest moves? On the way down, I just went down the standard route which was easier/less exposed than I was expecting. Looks like you had fun up there.

What a cool area huh? I named the North route based off of what direction it was facing, like if the rock had eyes it'd be looking north towards Cooper, there were awesome holds on that one and I remember a giant hold (like a pretty significant crack you could get your hands in) on what I called the F&T route that helped a TON. I'd agree with a 3+/4 crux assessment on the North Ridge. In fact I went back and reorganized and redrew some pictures, I think I ended up confusing myself when I was posting it up, hopefully it looks a little better now. It felt 4ish at the crux when I swung left around an overhung boulder, but everything else was probably 3+. The F&T was solid 4th. On Sept. 5th I woulda been splashing around Stone Lake and staring longingly up at Marten haha. To be honest I didn't notice any cairns but I was pretty jazzed about finding new scrambling options that I probably missed some. I am absolutely going to go back and explore some more on both peaks, and I still need to tag Hiamovi Tower as well, that one looks like fun. Thanks for commenting! 12ers do rule!
