Pikes Peak via Crags Route - June 14, 2005

Climbed Pikes Peak on the Crags Route yesterday. The weather was perfect and the trail conditions were mostly good. Between 11700 and 12700 the trail was very wet in places. The trail is mostly snow free until the last 500 feet but cairns are visible and we were able to navigate through the rocks to the summit without any gear. Each of the other three groups we saw on the route skipped that section of the trail and hiked along the road instead, so that is always an option if you are uncomfortable on the snow and rocks.
