Harvard and Humboldt Aborted Trips 11/15-16/09

With all the new snow I thought it would be great to try and get some of the lower angled routes done. Harvard 's summer route involves terrain below 30 degrees the entire way except for one small section that I had seen in recent photos was bare before the storm.....

The rest can be seen on my site

Beautiful down there with snow.

On the South Colony lakes road with a 4x4 where would someone without a snowmobile have to park?

What sort of snow depths did you see?

for putting this up, we've been a bit starved for condition updates around here lately, nice to see what's going on in the central Sawatch. Nice work trying to get after it early, even if the payoff was less than you hoped for. Check you PMs.

There was about 2 feet of new. After the turn off Colfax you can go about a 1/2 mile before you hit snow. There's a cattle guard there and that's about it, and that was with a lifted 4runner with very good tires. Once you got to those very 1st switchbacks it surely would have been it. It might melt off a bit this week.
