From the trailhead, cross the large bridge that spans the stream in Stevens Gulch -
1. Continue into the basin for over 1.5 miles to reach an information sign
about half way into the hike -
2. Shortly after this point, hike through some bushes and across a rocky area near 12,300' -
3. The trail gradually turns left as it climbs behind a small ridge that runs south up to the east side of Grays. Above 12,600', swing left and follow the trail along the west side of the rocky ridge -
5. Continue to a trail junction
above 13,200' -

Leave the Grays trail and traverse (
8 and
9) southwest to reach the Grays-Torreys saddle
, above 13,700' -
10. Please stay on the trail all the way to the saddle. Once at the saddle, turn right (
11) and follow the Torreys trail across the saddle and climb the last 1/2 mile to the summit
