That spot on Mizzou is just steep sidehill on crappy dirt. But once you start sliding or falling there, you're not going to stop for a while.
And if the conditions are variable, like a little icy or even wet, it would be moreso. I did it in the snow, and we took our time through there.
+1
I slid a few feet downward on that dirt, and it can be sketchy

We're supposed to be talking about dry summer conditions. Snow or ice makes lots of peaks sketchy. The sides are covered with dirt and they aren't even at the angle of repose. You wouldn't go far. Lumping Missouri with Crestone Pk. exposure wise is really a reach. The east ridge of Yale is dicier and it's rated 2.

I get it! The exposure rating on Mizz is too high!!!!! I’ll take a look at it because, you’re right, it’s not the same as Longs, Snowmass

Please do that immediately, tonight before someone dies as a result.

No I was trying to give reason for it to remain as is. Mizzy has had deaths on that ridge. When I say conservative I mean better to make the rating too high than too low. It's just a mild version of not understating the Cap issues.

Taken another way, someone could do a waltz up Missouri and decide Crestone P, Snowmass and Longs are no worse. BTW, I don't think anyone has died on Missouri in dry weather. The couple that fell a few years back were off route.

Geezer, the exposure rating is not the same as the Difficulty rating. The Mizz diff rating is lower than the routes/peaks you’ve mentioned. I’ll certainly take a look at the exposure rating on Mizz but users should be using the difficulty rating as the main criteria for the route’s difficulty.

I love the new and improved difficulty list. But what did Mt Cameron do to deserve this harsh treatment? Even though it’s just a bump in the trail to Lincoln from Democrat, I need to see it on the list so I can check it off with my special sharpie marker. I think I should consult my psychiatrist for advice on how to manage this new problem.

I know that.

I didn't mean for my original comment to become such a bone of contention!

Can we put Mt Cameron on the new difficulty list? I realize most would do it as a combo with Democrat Lincoln and Bross, but for completeness it would be proper to have it listed. Kite lake to Dem-Cam saddle then to Cam summit and back deserves recognition. Thanks for considering this thought.
