The European licensing is much more traditional than the American Mounting Guide Association.

Some hikers go through Fairplay and Climax, before they even get to the trailhead?

I've seen an old map where it's marked as Foreplay instead of Fairplay.

It's certainly good to have one's rope work down. But on the 14ers, it just slows you down too much.
