Second the stop at the campground. I camped there last summer and the rangers come by when you pull in and give you chicken wire to put around your car. They would be more than happy to give you some I'm sure.

Bugaboo Provincial Park in BC. The problem is so bad there the rangers provide the chicken wire.
To climb is to push yourself in a way you might not normally imagine is possible. If your stamina, skill, and luck are sound you will get to stand on top. ... I realized that with climbing, I'd found something that nourished my soul and could forge me into a better version myself - Jim Davidson

Being lazy and don't have my map out but this is at the TH for the 4 pass loop? I plan to do the hike next month and just want to make sure I'm prepared. I'll be in a rental so not to terribly concerned but would like to keep the brakes in working order.

Is this a problem anywhere in Colorado other than the Elks?

I got attacked at S. Colony Lakes. Found him under my car and had to chase away. Chewed at my wires, was fortunately able to get back home but my car did eventually die in Denver one day due to chewing done to the wiring.

I guess to be more specific I am looking to car-camp near Huron and wondering if this is an issue in the Sawatch as well...
