Looking to do Conundrum hot springs here in the next few days. Does anyone have any current conditions of the trail? How far up is the snow?
Thanks for any info!

Re: Current Conditions Conundrum Hot Springs Trail
I was wondering myself, thinking about trying it this weekend. I was a little ways up East Snowmass Creek yesterday, maybe around 10,000 ft, and was starting to see a small patch or two of snow (it was after work, and got as far as I could while light allowed, otherwise I'd have kept going)...E Smass seems quite similar in elev, aspects, surrounding peaks, and isn't far as the crow flies, so it may be a decent comparison...
Just guessing, I'd think or hope Conundrum is probably snow free for the first 5 miles or so, maybe more. If I do it this weekend, I'll be sure post conditions after...

Re: Current Conditions Conundrum Hot Springs Trail
Can't speak to Conundrum Creek drainage, but I hiked up above Cathedral Lake (2 drainages southwest in the Castle Creek Valley) on Tuesday afternoon (good weekday workout). Only hit a few snow patches on the trail, until I reached the switchbacks below the lake (11,600 or so by my altimeter), and it was solid snow and post hole city from there up (thigh high sinking in spots). Both trails face south east so they melt out fairly quick, however, Conundrum is more wooded and in a narrower valley, so my guess is you will probably hit the snow line at some point around 10,500-11,000 feet (which isn't too far below the Hot Springs at 11,200).
Also note that you have to cross the creek 3 times (2.5, 6, 6.5 miles in) to reach the Hot Springs. At this point in the season come prepared for high water...

Re: Current Conditions Conundrum Hot Springs Trail
Was up there several weeks ago. Trail was in great shape and easy to follow. Several stream crossings but not too bad. I got a little wet at upper crossing of Conundrum Creek, but dried quickly. Flowers were amazing should be at their peak. Enjoy..I did it in one day. Started at 6 am and back to my car by 245(sat in hot springs for about 15 minutes)
Parking filled up fast as lots of backpackers. Enjoy..
