Don’t go back to Rockdale

And waste another year.

(Sorry, this ear worm is now yours)

Missouri from Rockdale was on my agenda within the next couple of weeks. If no one confirms the presence/lack of a gate before I go, I'll reply back to this thread.

Less than 100' after is a FS 381 sign and a non-gated road leading down. We didn't go down it but saw no gate as far as we could see from the road. Unfortunately for the OP I think you just missed the road, if you drive a little farther it's there on your left
I did see that second road, but it looked very different from what I remember the creek crossing looking like 8 or so years ago. Yesterday, I went by again and yes, you can drive downstream a ways from FS 381 to cross the creek and proceed to Clohesy Lake. All is good.

I just did a loop from Clohesy to Missouri Gulch for Magdalene. All this recent information about a closed gate is fake news. We ended up walking from 2WD but plenty of vehicles at the upper TH.

Never went above my knees and I am 5'9. The current was totally doable, carried my friend's dog through them. The two main creeks are right at the start and back-to-back crossings, wore boots/chocos, and cached them after the second crossing. I had some great pictures, but lost my phone at the end of the day yesterday. Once the replacement comes in, I can post some pictures if you'd like.
