scott really nailed it on this one.
I mean, this isn't going to "fix" I-70 though.

I mean... you're not wrong. But nobody has the intestinal fortitude to do what is required to "fix" I-70, though.

Here is what it should look like when finished. Something needs to be done, that 3 lanes down to 2 lanes at the top of Floyd Hill is a perpetual bottleneck and traffic jam.

And what would that be, the Thanos option?

Commuting this ski season is going to suck even more now :-D

Off topic, do they have any plans to expand the entirety of 285 to at least two lanes?

Off topic, has there ever been a proposal to put in a highway to connect the Winter Park/Steamboat/Grandby area with NW metro-Denver/Boulder?

The Floyd Hill expansion looks pretty cool:

A highway through the Jame Peaks Wilderness or Indian Peaks Wilderness? Not happening, and I for one would never want to see it happen.

Why improve the road when you can just ban cars?

Yes. There have been several proposals for a vehicle tunnel from the Front Range to Winter Park. None of them got off the ground and such a tunnel is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

Europe has many long tunnels through the mountains. Colorado can't even get toilets at all the 14er trailheads.

Winter Park already has way to many people, a tunnel would make it as bad a times square in NYC. I never want to see a tunnel for cars up here.

I will be coming from KC and staying in Dillon next week with plans for Kelso Ridge, The Sawtooth, Holy Cross, and some 13ers. I assume alpine starts will be fine, but the drives back to my lodging in the afternoon and evening may experience delays, correct?
