Speaking of unique registers, this was my favorite from this year, on the summit of Whitecross:
Doubt there is an Indian grocery store within 350 miles of Lake City, so this made quite the journey in someone's pack.
These are delicious, by the way, though I would have opted for the "Hot" instead of the "Mild".

Mike Garratt's summit registers might be the most sturdy, but Yusuf's are surely the most fun.espressoself wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2023 3:21 pm Doubt there is an Indian grocery store within 350 miles of Lake City, so this made quite the journey in someone's pack.

Re: Coolest Find While Hiking
Found a small digital camera on Princeton. Discovered a picture of someone wearing a name tag, like at a conference. It was a French name. Googled it, found out this guy was a professor at the University of London business school. Got his email, spoke with him and confirmed he did lose the camera. Sent it back to him. He sent me a 50$ REI gift card in return. May not be a cool find, but an interesting one with a neat outcome.

This probably ranks right up there... remnants of a plane crash in the mountains upstate NY.
